DIY Tie Dye Socks

Image

I love socks durring this time of year, and wanted to spice up and widen my elaborate collection

Materials needed:

socks

tie dye kit

water

This Tie Dye kit is available at most craft stores and it works amazing!

(I used this kit for the socks above)

In the kit there was a presoak powder  to help the fabric absorb pigment.

I mixed that with warm water in the bowl.

Layout all your materials and try to be organized

I let my socks soak for about 10 minutes in the provided solution

Make sure to squeeze out ALL the liquid (as much as possible), they need to be able to absorb the dye.

Prepare your dying surface. I used the floor of the shower, and a trash bag to be EXTRA safe!

Image

Add warm/hot water to the dye bottles, and shake well to dissolve the dye.

(be careful not to splatter yourself)

Now have FUN and apply the dye in any pattern

After letting the socks sit for 24 hours remove the rubber bands and rinse with cold water…

wash, dry, and enjoy your new socks!

I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one”

The journey

Image

Why do we always rush the journey to enjoy the end, when it’s simply just another beginning?

Being able to have an experience and enjoy it while it’s happening and not finished is much harder to do than imagined. We are taught from childhood to reach the goal, by doing this you can miss the present of today.

Enjoy today, and the gift that you have been given.
